01 ATTENDANCE
The same six retirees
A daytime PPG meeting in the surgery reaches patients with daytime flexibility. Working-age people, parents, shift workers, carers. Effectively excluded.
PPG Toolkit is a set of tools for English GP practice managers running a patient participation group. The first tools land inside MyPM. A standalone digital PPG app is next. Put your email in and we’ll tell you when each one ships.

Diagram (concept, illustrative): a patient sends survey feedback. The toolkit groups replies by theme. The top theme becomes a PPG agenda item, which is tagged to the relevant CQC evidence code.
It’s that the standard format (a small in-person group, ad-hoc agenda, no documented decision about who you’re reaching) doesn’t produce the evidence CQC now expects, and doesn’t engage the patients who most need to be heard.
01 ATTENDANCE
A daytime PPG meeting in the surgery reaches patients with daytime flexibility. Working-age people, parents, shift workers, carers. Effectively excluded.
02 CADENCE
Monthly cadences burn out attendance, theirs and yours. Attendance halves by month three; by month six the same two people raise the same complaint.
03 FEEDBACK
“Does anyone have any concerns?” produces silence or the loudest grievance. You leave with no signal worth changing the rota over.
04 EVIDENCE
An inactive PPG is a Responsive concern under the 2024 framework. Minutes of four sparsely attended meetings is not what a confident practice puts on the table.
The PPG Toolkit isn’t one product. It’s a growing set of tools for practice managers who want a real patient participation group, not a paper one. We’re shipping the tools in order of usefulness: the things practices most need, first.
01 STAGE 2
Coming very soonThe first PPG tool lands inside MyPM: the practice-manager platform already used by 34+ practices. A guided improvement plan, with worksheets and content, that uses MyPM’s existing task framework so the work actually gets done, not stuck on a shelf. The PPG plan is the first; others (complaints, access audits, FFT) follow.
02 STAGE 3
In developmentA standalone app for practices ready to run their PPG across the whole patient list, not just the regulars. Monthly updates out, structured feedback in, a dashboard that tells you what to write next. Lives on its own domain at app.ppgtoolkit.co.uk, with strict GDPR. Patient emails never touch any other practice-management data.
Tell us when it’s ready. Use the form below.
03 TEMPLATES
OngoingShort pieces you can use this afternoon: a model PPG constitution, a meeting agenda that doesn’t die in 20 minutes, an honest-to-CQC minutes template. Published on this site as each one is ready.
04 STAGE 3 STANDALONE APP
Coming soonMost PPGs hear from 0.1% of the practice population. A digital PPG reaches everyone with an email address. That’s 70 to 80% of most practices. Monthly updates from you. Light-touch feedback back. A dashboard you’d actually open.
We’re building it as a standalone app at app.ppgtoolkit.co.uk. On its own infrastructure, with its own GDPR posture, patient emails never mixed with anything else. Because a patient-voice tool should be built like one.
Ships when it’s worth shipping. No set date. If you want to know first, the list below is how.
05 WHAT’S READY
We’ll be frankThe PPG Toolkit isn’t a finished product. It’s a growing set of tools, shipping in order of usefulness. The list opposite is what that actually means today.
If that trade isn’t for you (an honest set of tools, incomplete, one email when each part lands), close the tab. No hard feelings.
06 THE LIST
No cohort, no gate, no commitment. When a new part of the PPG Toolkit is ready, you get one email. Unsubscribe whenever.
